The African gospel music industry has just been taken a notch higher with the release of brand new anthem involving two of Africa’s music giants Samuel Adjei Darteh alias KobbySalm and Vimbada hitmaker Kevin Amenge aka Jabidii.

Music lovers across the African continent and the world a whole have been given a rare musical treat thanks to Ghana’s top artiste KobbySalm and revered Kenyan Gospel artiste Jabidii with the debut of their sizzling hot collaboration dubbed Fabegye.

YEIYO.com has learnt Fabegye by KobbySalm and Jabidii which was released on Friday, August 10, is a captivating gospel tune through which the stars are thanking and praising God for his abundunt blessings.

Fabegye is a Ghanaian word meaning – Take Come collect, bring something in return of something.

The song also passes as an inspirational song meaning – Come as you are and come for your blessing.

The best bit about Fabegye is the fact that the artistes jumped on the Amapiano vibe, giving it a danceable vibe even as they praised God for always showering them with blessings.

To give it an international appeal, KobbySalm and Jabidii infused various languages ranging from Twi, Pidgin and Swahili, a move that gave the tune a blend of multi-cultures.

Judging by various social media commentaries following Fabegye’s release, it is clear the audio producer, Acoustic Musik understood the assignment.

The official visuals for Fabegye was shot and directed by 100FOLT.

The music video brought out the authentic African vibe with some scenes shot a top a mountain in Kibra, Nairobi, which is Africa’s largest slum.

Speaking about the collaboration, Kobbysalm described it as a vibe that came to his mind when he and Jabidii were in studio.

“We deliberately wanted to record something vibely for the youth and when we were sampling the different instrumentals that my producer gave us the only word that could come on my mind was ‘Come for your blessing’ ” KobbySalm said.

Jabidii on the other hand said he knew about KobbySalm’s existence in 2019 after he attended an event dubbed Africa Gospel Awards.

“I saw so many artists but what stood out with him was his performance,he stepped on stage with a lot of energy, i did not know that he had noticed me as well.From there we started following each other on social media started becoming friends until late 2021 when i was invited again to Ghana and that’s when we decided to do something together.” Jabidii disclosed.

They both described working together as a great experience as they had both built a good relationship and their vibes were the same.

Speaking about some of the challenges that he went through while working on the video, Kobby said that one of the biggest challenges he encountered was searching for the location in Kenya since the team didn’t know the country well.

KobbySalm partnered with ‘Let’s Dance Africa’ who helped with the dancers that appeared in the music video.

Let’s Dance Africa also choreographed the dance challenge of the song. They also helped get dancers to partake in the challenge.

KobbySalm who is Ghanaian is not new to the world of producing hit songs.

It should be noted he is the founder of the vibrant , The Guess Who It Is Family Movement, through which he has also helped countless artistes become stars in their own rights.

KobbySalm maybe a musician but also possesses a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.

His recognition as one of Africa’s Favorite Gospel rappers has earned him incredible features with both great local and international artists like ; Grammy noded canton jones [United States Of America], Nkay [Nigeria], Okey Sokay [Nigeria], Adomaa Music[Ghana], and Empress Gifty[Ghana].

In 2019,Kobbysalm made history in the Ghana Gospel music industry with kingzkid [Ghanaian artist] to become the first ever gospel artists to produce a joint album dubbed Úncommon EP’ when fans were strongly questioning the unity in the gospel industry.

KobbySalm has so far received several awards and nominations following his hard work in the Ghanaian gospel industry as well as west Africa as a whole.

Aside from pleasing God his ideal dream is to see the urban gospel genre become a mainstream gospel genre in Ghana and also develop the talents of the younger generation with the soul aim of drawing them closer to God.

On his part, Jabidii is one of Kenya’s most sought after gospel musicians having made ripples in the airwaves with his banger Vimbada.

The hitmaker is also an award winning Afropop dancehall artist popularly known for his famous hit ‘Shoot satan’ which shook the Kenyan music industry about five years ago.

He is the first Kenyan artist to scoop the African Dancehall artist of the year Award in the Annual Africa Gospel music Awards which were held in Accra Ghana.

Jabidii started his music career officially in 2017 with his first single shoot satan and has so far collaborated with top artists the likes of Timeless Noel and Moji shortbabaa among others.

Fabegye release impressed quite a multitude, with many asking for more from the two multitalented musicians.
