Melodious Tanzanian singer Jay Melody is finally a free man after spending a couple of hours in police cells for assaulting his Kenyan promoter, YEIYO.com has learnt.
Jay Melody who has been in Kenya for the past few days is said to have rained blows on his Kenyan promoter following a minor misunderstanding while in Mombasa for a show.
It is not yet clear why the humble musician and his Kenyan promoter differed but news of their scuffle caused ripples on social media with a mammoth of his Kenyan fans condemning him on end over his unprecedented actions.
According to sources intimate to YEIYO.com, the fracas was so serious that police had to be involved.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that Jay Melody was arrested moments after the melee and was forced to spend a couple of hours in a Mombasa police cell before finally being bailed out.
The drama, Jay Melody’s arrest and his release was confirmed by the artiste himself during an exclusive interview with Chito Ndlovu and Kwambox on Kiss 100.
Pressed to explain the fracas during the interview, Jay Melody became coy about the whole thing and summarised it as one of his bad days at the office.

The musician was scheduled for a series of shows in the country, spreading from Mombasa, all the way to Mwea, where he is expected to perform on Saturday, July 8.
