• Producer Shirko was one of the creatives appointment to the Talanta Hela Initiative board
• Shirko insisted that the revocation of their appointments has not affected him the way most people, including Producer Tee think
• He confirmed that countless people have been praying for his downfall in vain
Legendary music producer and extraordinaire violinist Salim Awadh alias Shirko has finally spoken hours after his appointment together with others to the Talanta Hela Initiative board was revoked.
Producer Shirko, known for his laid back and reserved demeanor took to social media to air his sentiments following the disbandment of the Talanta Hela Initiative committee.
In a long post seen by YEIYO.com on Facebook, Shirko made it clear that the disbandment of Talanta Hela did not affect him as much as people think.
According to the music maker, many people were not happy with the appointments and prayed that everything go south for the appointees.
Shirko noted that no one should care about what other people think or want them to do with their lives as everyone is on their own.
The celebrated music legend insisted that everyone, including the former Talanta Hela Initiative committee appointees should enjoy their lives and not let the setback ruin their lives and happiness.
Producer Shirko wrote on Facebook.
His reaction comes barely hours after Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts Ababu Namwamba cancelled the appointments of various celebrities appointed to various sports and creative committees under the Talanta Hela Initiative.
The controversial appointments were revoked by the CS through a new gazette notice sighted by YEIYO.com.
This publication understands the appointments were revoked on Wednesday, June 7, ahead of its official launch which went down at State House on Friday, June 9.
YEIYO.com understands Shirko had been appointed as one of the Members of the Talents Hela’s Creative Technical committee which also included notable names such as Akinyi Odongo, Jimmi Gathu, Catherine Kamau, Kizito Makhande, Azziad Nasenya, Rosemary Wahu Kagwi, Douglas Kipkirui, and Langat Susan Ekasiba.
Shirko’s appointment was a big boost for the general music industry, especially the Mombasa Showbiz, having come from the county.
With the revocation, the future seems somehow bleak for many talents in different parts of the country, specifically the Coast.
