• Kenyans were touched by Peter Salasya’s generous gesture and duly commended him on end on social media

Youthful Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has done his part in trying to change the old-age narrative that all politicians are liars and rarely do they keep their promises.

This is after the vocal legislator fullfilled his promise of building a house for Azimio and Raila Odinga’s loyal supporter Nuru Okanga.

Peter Salasya, on Saturday, June 24, officially handed over the house to Nuru Okanga in a fun-filled ceremony in Mumias.

News about the house handing over event was first made public by MP Peter Salasya through social media posts seen by YEIYO.com on his pages.

The politician shared a video of Nuru Okanga, his wife and children receiving keys to the house and officially opening it, before welcoming guests in.

Through his caption, Peter Salasya disclosed he will also buy an expensive mattress and a bed for Okanga just but to add icing on the cake.

He went on to throw jabs at his rival as he praised himself for being a man of his word unlike many politicians.

“Today I fulfilled my promise to Nuru Okanga KE that after constructing a house for him I will also bless them with an expensive mattress and a nice bed and indeed I did it exactly kweli Mimi ni wakusema na kutenda na nikawaombea Thank you pple of matungu constituency Kholera ward for good turn up to receive me,” Peter Salasya wrote.

His generous gesture impressed many Kenyans who camped on the comments section of his post to commend him.

The latest development unfolded barely two months after Peter Salasya first met Nuru Okanga.

The Kenyan media earlier reported that Salasya visited Okanga in Hospital in March where he gifted him with money.

Salasya also visited Nuru Okanga at his rural home in Mumias and promised him the house after seeing the deplorable state of the house he had in the village.

Truly, he honoured his promise in a move that differentiated him from most Kenyan politicians.
