Kenyans have taken to social media to laud former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko for turning boxer Conjestina Achieng’s life around.
Countless netizens could not help but heap praises on Mike Sonko for standing with Conjestina Achieng during her trying moment and ensuring she is back on her feet.
The politician on Thursday, June 15, posted photos of Conjestina Achieng in a lovely suit, looking all healthy and happy as he welcomed him back to the society.
Captioning the photos, Mike Sonko revealed that he has not been doing PR with Conjestina.
According to Mike Sonko, humanity comes first before politics and PR.
“Nawacho ni Conjestina okdong Siaya coz we transform lives. We don’t play politics or PR with life ya any Kenyan,” Mike Sonko wrote.
His post impressed many Kenyans who not only thanked him for helping Conjestina but also urged him not to stop supporting the legendary boxer.
Quite a number of netizens admitted that indeed Conjestina has changed a lot.
Looking at the photos, one can clearly see a totally sober and healthy Conjestina Achieng.
The latest development unfolded barely a week after Conjestina Achieng made a comeback to the ring.
YEIYO.com understands Conjestina on Sunday, June 11, attended a boxing match organised by former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko in Mombasa.
Sonko, through social media disclosed that the main aim of the march was to initiate Conjestina back to her passion and talent and welcoming her back home after undergoing treatment at the Mombasa Women Empowerment Network.
It should be noted that ten years ago, Conjestina Achieng was on the verge of throwing away her well-manicured career after facing financial and mental health issues.
Her trouble started since not long after ditching boxing in 2011.
Her career suffered big time when she started suffering mentally.
However, in September 2022, Mike Sonko sponsored Conjestina Achieng’s admission to Mombasa Women Empowerment Network Hospital in Miritini.
Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko had come to the aid of the boxing champion after he visited her while she was at the hospital.
