Popular Eldoret-based musician Ricc Berry has added his voice in the ongoing debate on whether Music Copyrights Society Of Kenya(MCSK) should be disbanded or allowed to operate.

Joining a list of many Kenyan artistes condemning the royalties collection body, Ricc Berry blatantly called for the closure of MCSK, holding it has been frustrating creatives instead of helping them.

Speaking during an interview with ESIDE SHOW, Ricc Berry said only MCSK officials are the ones benefiting from artistes’ revenue instead of the artistes themselves.

“MCSK should be disbanded kila mtu apewe registration money. Because the people in office are benefiting more than Artistes,” Ricc Berry said.

His sentiments came barely a month after many musician came out to condemn MCSK for remitting peanuts in the name of royalties.

From Bien Aime to Vaida hitmaker Harry Richie, many creatives shared about the amount of money they all received from MCSK.

Quite a number of them expressed their disappointments, holding that MCSK can do better for artistes in the country.
