Revered Hiphop artiste Julius Owino, alias Juliani has for the first time opened up about the quandaries he had to go through after news of his relationship with former Machakos County governor Alfred Mutua’s ex-wife Lilian Ng’ang’a became public.
Juliani, famed for various hit songs disclosed the relationship scandal dealt his career and finances a major blow.
Speaking during an interview with Solomon Zuly and Shuga Boy on Radio Maisha, Juliani revealed that the scandal cost him a number of mouth-watering deals that he had already bagged.
According to the artiste, some corporates cancelled their engagements with him after reports emerged he had allegedly snatched Lilian Ng’ang’a from Alfred Mutua.
Juliani noted that the cancellation affected his career in a major way but he had to accept and move on.
“Yes, the story cost me some deals. There are some deals I had already signed with some corporates but they had to pull back to avoid being associated with my brand which by then, was being dragged in mud.” Juliani said.
The Bahasha Ya Ocampo crooner also used the opportunity to water down allegations that he intentionally snatched Lilian Ng’ang’a from her ex-husband, Alfred Mutua.
Addressing the issue, Juliani denied ever snatching Lilian holding she is a human being and an adult who cannot be snatched as she is not a property.
“No, I did not snatch her. Yes people said that but how can you take a human being from someone? Shes is not anyone’s property. What happened happened and as they say, it is what it is. But I am happy now we have a baby together, she’s still with me and we are happy,” Juliani added.
Juliani’s clarification comes about three years after report of his affair with Lilian Ng’ang’a emerged.
Their relationship caused ripples online with quite a number of people wondering what could make Lilian Ng’ang’a leave a loaded husband for a “mere” musician.
While some people called out both Juliani and Lilian over the same, a section of Kenyans rallied behind them and offered the couple their unwavering support even as they tried to wade off the controversy.
