Kenyans on social media have lauded Ghetto Radio and it’s management for coming to the rescue of a Nairobi youth who had been arrested for stumbling on a smokies and eggs vendor, damaging his goods.

According to Ghetto Radio, the young man identified as Brian Mwangi is said to have accidentally hit a smokies and eggs trolley and destroyed products worth KSh 12,000.

Brian Mwangi was arrested in Uthiru area where the incident initially occurred.

It was reported that Brian Mwangi had spent five days in police cell before he was arraigned.

Ghetto Radio, through it’s official social media pages reported that Brian Mwangi was arraigned in court on Friday, September 22, after being sued for the damages.

Following the airing of Brian Mwangi’s sad story, activist Boniface Mwangi came out and promised to bail him out and pay his KSh 10,000 fine even as his case proceeds in court.

However, Ghetto Radio Boss Majimaji confirmed his station had bailed out Brian Mwangi and will be walking with him in the whole journey.

Majimaji thanked police officers at Industrial Area Remand Prison who were very helpful in releasing Brian Mwangi.

“From Inda, we’ve located Brian Mwangi. A sad funny story of how he has had to spend 5 days in police remand for sliding on a smokie vendor causing Kshs. 12k worth of damages (Smokie, Sausage and the jiko).
He was arrested and given 10k cash bail…
The officers were very helpful!”
Majimaji wrote on Twitter.

Brian Mwangi’s arrest and arraignment angered many netizens who condemned police for going for petty offenders and leaving corrupt politicians roaming freely.
