Flamboyant Transport Cabinet Second Kipchumba Murkomen has left a bad taste in the mouths of many Kenyans after stepping out rocking a super expensive designer sneakers.

YEIYO.com understands the Transport CS, on Saturday, August 26, visited the Kenya Aviation Authority (KAA) offices to find out what really happened that led to a massive power outage at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Kipchumba Murkomen’s visit bore fruits as it saw the sacking of KAA Managing Directors Alex Gitari and Fred Odawo, General Manager of Project and Engineering Services Abel Gogo, not to mention the transfer of JKIA Airport manager to Moi International Airport.

While the move was aimed at impressing many people, Kenyans from different walks of life shifted their focus to what Kipchumba Murkomen wore during his visit and subsequent media briefing.

The eloquent CS donned a Black collared T-shirt, light Grey pair of trousers and a pair of luxury Navy Blue Gucci sneakers valued at USD 920, which is equivalent to KSh 131,000.

Kipchumba Murkomen’s fashion statement caused a melee online as Kenyans took to different social media platforms to question his priorities.

A multitude of netizens who aired their views via Twitter (X) wondered how the CS could spend such a huge amount of money on a single pair of shoes instead of channeling it to helping needy Kenyans, in this case, his constituents.

Some even went as far as calling him to account for his sudden rise in wealth.

A throng of netizens concluded that he possibly afforded the shoes and his current opulence thanks to corruption.

Many insisted that he was, rather living large courtesy of taxpayers’ money.

Others, however, defended Murkomen holding that he is a man of means having been in the government for about a decade now.

Some noted that he owe no one anything and has every right to buy whatever he wants since it is his hard earned money.
