It is every parent’s prayer and dream to see their children prosper in life.
Many, if not all will do just about anything to support their offsprings even as they chase greatness in different fields.
This was recently brought to life by Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o who flew all the way to Paris, France just to have a sit down with his daughter Lupita Nyong’o.
Being a world star, engrossed with a busy schedule, Lupita Nyong’o could not make it to Kenya for a meeting with her father, Anyang’ Nyong’o in a move that saw his otherwise busy father catch the next flight to Paris to actualise the meeting.
Anyang’ Nyong’o, through his social media pages informed his followers that he had traveled to for an important meeting with the award-winning actress.
The proud father posted a photo of himself in Paris, standing next to Lupita Nyong’o followed by a brief but clear caption to give his followers context.
The politician could not help but note that family time has always given him life and will do just about anything to enjoy the same.
“At a meeting with my daughter, @Lupita_Nyongo in Paris. It’s always great to spend time with my family.” Anyang’ Nyong’o wrote.
His post, however, rubbed a section of netizens the wrong way and they could not hide their sentiments as they took to the comments section to vent.
According to a multitude, it was disrespectful for Lupita Nyong’o to let his father ditch his busy schedule as a politician and fly to Paris just to meet her instead of the opposite.
On the flipside, majority of Kenyans on social media found no offense in the latest development and duly defended the Governor and his daughter even as they virtually passed their warm greetings to the US-based Kenyan actress.
Anyang’ Nyong’o’s trip did not get many by surprise as he had in 2019 disclosed why it is quite an uphill task for Lupita Nyong’o to visit Kenya regularly.
The Kisumu Governor, through an old interview with Lilian Muli explained why the Oscar award winning actress, has been ‘sneaking’ in and out of the country in the last few years, if need be.
The 78-year-old Political Science Professor candidly narrated how life has never been the same ever since his daughter Lupita Nyong’o won an Oscar Award for her role in the movie 12 Years A Slave.
Nyong’o stated that his entire family had to adjust to Lupita’s global fame in a bid to accommodate her and ensure that she does not lose family touch.
