• It was earlier alleged that parents of students at Ng’iya Girls School and alumnus did not want Akothee to talk to their girls
• It has emerged Akothee’s invite was cancelled following complaints from an ACK Bishop from the area who was not comfortable with her presence at the school
Controversial Kenyan entertainer Akothee has finally responded after her invite to Ng’iya Girls School in Kisumu was cancelled last minute.
YEIYO.com understands Akothee had been invited to the school’s talent show which happened on Sunday, August 6, where she was supposed to deliver a keynote speech even as she encourages and inspires young girls who want to be like her when they grow up.
However, her invite was revoked on the eleventh hour with reports indicating some of the parents and alumnus of Ng’iya Girls School were uncomfortable with her talking to their girls.
According to unconfirmed reports, the group insisted Akothee was not fit to be their children’s role model owing to her many scandals and dramas exhibited online.
Responding to the claims , Akothee disclosed she holds no grudge with the school and it’s principal.
Akothee noted that she will still keep supporting the school despite the minor glitch.
Explaining the reason behind the cancellation, the mother of five made it clear that it was the area’s ACK Bishop who inspired the revocation.
“Thank you very much Madam Helen ,may The almighty bless your heart . I met you in Sinyolo Girls and you stole my heart with your kindness, you made my work of admitting the less fortunate easy ,even though I was late 🙏thank you very much for helping me support the vulnerable, you saw it fit to help you walk the journey of the underprivileged, but there is a way the universe works for us . Akothee shared a screenshot of a message from the her brand manager revealing the decision was made because of the Bishop who was uncomfortable with Akothee’s presence in the school.
“Hi Ma’am, we have new developments in Ngi’ya Girls. We shall have to cancel the event because the ACK Bishop of the area is not comfortable with our presence. They even went to the school and were very hard in the Principal Madam Hellen,” the message read.
This comes barely hours after netizens took to social media to mock Akothee for allegedly being rejected by Ng’iya Girls School’s alumnus and parents.
Some noted that Akothee deserved her fate since she comes nowhere near a role model, especially for girls.
Others supported Akothee, holding that the cancellation was a witch-hunt meant to taint her image.
